About work, jobs and prices
As a freelance photographer, I am happy to take commissions, be
available at the drop of a hat, and travel to any world destination
for my work.
See the portfolio page for some examples
of recent projects. I have been taking photos for over 40 years
in various locations, using a variety of photographic equipment.
I still enjoy working to tight schedules, offer a quality and reliability
second to none... yet remain competitively priced.

About the camera hardware:
The images in this gallery are mainly digital. At the moment I'm
using a Nikon D 70. I have used the following cameras in my quest
for perfection...A Hasselblad medium format, with an 80mm lens.
A Nikon 35mm FE, using a 20mm wide angle, and a 55 mm macro lens.
A Nikonos IVa underwater camera, usually with special filters, and
available light. (Also great for the Dales weather !)
I now use several digital cameras, a Panasonic TZ3, Nikon D70, a
Nikon Coolpix700, and the Canon G5.
About me:
Photography has always been part of my life. Starting with a Box
Brownie at the age of 12, I took photographs of my family and school
friends. I used to document playground games, changing landscapes,
and I tried to perfect close-up (macro) photography.
I spent 8 years in the RAF, interpreting aerial photography in
the form of black and white, colour, infra-red and IRFC. The very
first job I did was mapping the oil-spillage from the Torrey Canyon
in 1967.
Living abroad, I became interested in seascapes and underwater
photography. During my years in the Bahamas, my experience was further
enhanced as I became more involved in underwater photography, as
well as taking portraits of the local inhabitants, their way of
life and culture. I was commissioned to take several images for
a cargo ship sailing the Caribbean, and won several awards in 1984
from the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce.
Now, living in the Yorkshire Dales, I am doing what I love, and
do best. Photography. |
